I was bored last weekend and took a closer look at my collection. Here's the results:
As of July 30th, 2012, I had 474 postcards from 45 countries.
The oldest postcards in my collection are a set of mint vintage cards showing New York in the first decade of the last century.
The oldest stamped postcard (oldest with legible postmark) was mailed in Nairobi, Kenya, on March 4th, 1967 and can be found here
The oldest postcard of which I am the receiver was mailed in Melchsee-Frutt, Switzerland, on February 18th, 1999.
My most prized postcard is from Madagascar, written but not stamped, and shows two ring-tailed lemurs sitting on a tree. It was sent to me by a then pen pal as a New Year’s card in early 2000.
